Littleton's History

Littleton’s history begins in 1859 when the Pikes Peak gold rush occurred. Richard Little, a man from New Hampshire, came seeking his fortune but instead found this area of Colorado too beautiful to leave. He built a flour mill in 1867, and soon a small town sprung up around it. In 1890, Littleton was officially incorporated as a town.
