Englewood's History

In 1858, gold was discovered in the area that would eventually become Englewood. This brought a number of settlers to the land, including Thomas and Mary Skerritt, the founders of Englewood. The city was officially incorporated in 1903. In 1948, many big changes were planned in Englewood, including the creation of the McLellan Reservoir and the building of Cinderella City, one of the largest malls in the world at the time of its opening in 1968.
